Liverpool were able to clinch a late win in dramatic fashion at Anfield as they opened their Champions League campaign with a 3-2 victory.

The Reds opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when Daniel Sturridge headed home Andrew Robertson’s wonderful cross.

It was 2-0 six minutes later when Juan Bernat made an inexcusable foul on Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner slotted home the penalty.

PSG pulled the scoring back to 2-1 soon after, though, as Thomas Meunier’s excellent finish beat Alisson.

Liverpool dominated the second half but couldn’t find the back of the net and they were hit by a sucker punch when Mo Salah’s poor pass lost possession and Kylian Mbappe punished them to make it 2-2.

The game looked to be heading for a 2-2 draw but an amazing piece of skill and finish from substitute Roberto Firmino made it 3-2.
