Liverpool have no intention to recall injured Marko Grujic
Liverpool have no intention to recall injured midfielder Marko Grujic, who suffered major ligament damage whilst on loan at Hertha Berlin.
The midfielder was taken off during Hertha’s game with Borussia Monchengladbach, and tests have confirmed that the midfielder ruptured ligaments in his right ankle, meaning he will be out for some time.
However, the Liverpool Echo report that the midfielder will not be recalled to Anfield, with the Reds unlikely to cut short his season long loan in the German capital.
Hertha general manager Michael Preetz spoke about the player’s injury, confirming that Hertha will do all they can to help the player recover.
Marko has managed to make a significant difference to our game in the short time he has been with us.
Which is why the loss for him personally and for us is very, very bitter.
Now we will look after him and help him, so that he can play that role as soon as possible.
Grujic joined Hertha on loan in the Summer, after a spell at Cardiff City last season.
