Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has won the FIFA Puskas Award for his goal against Everton in the Merseyside Derby on December 10th, 2017.

Salah scored 44 goals for the Reds last season, including a record-breaking 32 in the Premier League, and it was one of these league goals that won Salah the award for the best strike of the season.
The Egyptian star curled the ball past Everton’s Jordan Pickford in the first half of the Derby, a game which ended 1-1 as Wayne Rooney’s penalty earned the visitors a point.
Many people expected either Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo to win the award after both scored stunning overhead kicks in the Champions League last season, with Bale’s coming against the Reds in the final, but it was Salah’s goal which was voted as the best of the season.
