Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye was lucky to avoid a long-term injury against Napoli, it has been revealed.
The Liverpool Echo report that the player’s injury is only minor after suffering an ankle injury against Napoli in the UEFA Youth League.
It had been suggested that Adekanye’s injury was serious after he was seen leaving on crutches.
However, that no longer appears to be the case, but it is unclear at this stage when the player is expected to return to action.
The forward missed the game against West Brom’s U23s side at the weekend.
The Nigerian-born winger is very highly rated at Anfield and the club will be keen to get the player back into action as soon as possible.
While Adekanye is not yet considered as a first-team player, it will come as a relief to those at the club to learn that he has avoided a long-term injury so early in his career.
