The Egyptian Football Association have confirmed that Premier League side Liverpool did not request them to rest Mohamed Salah during the international break, according to a report on ESPN.
The Liverpool forward picked up a groin injury during Egypt’s 4-1 victory over Swaziland on Friday night.
Salah netted Egypt’s fourth goal just before halftime but later limped off the field after straining his muscle.

The 26-year-old has since returned back to Liverpool and is now in a race against time to be fit for the match against Huddersfield Town on the weekend.
When addressing whether Liverpool wanted Salah to be rested, Osama Ismael, the spokesperson for the EFA, said:
These allegations are incorrect. Each player joins the team with a medical report on his condition. Each player also has a medical report.
Liverpool report did not require anything. But Salah was injured in the first game. He will not be able to play the second game.
The Reds will continue to monitor Salah over the next few days before knowing whether he will be available to play in the league on the weekend or not.
Salah has not quite found his goalscoring form this season but has been passionately defended by manager Jurgen Klopp, who is confident that the forward will be back to his best soon.
