Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson says his side need to get their “spark” back, following Tuesday’s shock 2-0 defeat away to Red Star Belgrade.
The Reds have not fired on all cylinders this season, despite being unbeaten in the Premier League and still well-placed to reach the Champions League knockout stages.
Speaking to the Guardian, Robertson admits it has been a grind at times for Jurgen Klopp’s side, urging them to rediscover the magic witnessed in 2017/18.

I think it’s one of those periods we need to get through.
Last season everyone was used to us scoring four or five goals. That can’t be possible every single game.
At times we’ve dug out results, in the Premier League more so this season. Maybe it’s not been as good to look at but we’ve been effective at it.
Maybe we are missing a bit of a spark in terms of not winning four- or five-nil in most games but if he [Klopp] thinks that then we need to try to get it back.
We need to come together as a team and try to give what the gaffer wants, try to get the spark and try to win games more comfortably.

Next up for Liverpool is the visit of Fulham on Sunday lunchtime, in a game they cannot afford to drop points in.
There is a feeling that the Reds will explode at some point, clicking in attack and looking more cohesive as a unit – maybe this weekend is that time.
