A lack of a ‘Plan B’ has been something of a problem for Liverpool this season, with the 2-0 defeat against Red Star Belgrade a prime example of this.
The main attacking threats for Liverpool this season have been Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Xherdan Shaqiri is the backup if one of them is rotated – all four featured against Fulham, so if it didn’t work there would be no other viable attacking option on the bench for the Reds.
