Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has jokingly given his reason for Liverpool not winning the Premier League this season, report 24sata.
The Reds and the Blues look to be Manchester City’s closest title challengers in 2018/19, with all three clubs unbeaten in their opening 12 games.
Kovacic has cheekily suggested that Croatia teammate Dejan Lovren will be Liverpool’s weak-link, however, in their quest for a first league title since 1990.
Liverpool will not be England champion. Why? Well because they have Dejan Lovren.

There is clearly a close bond between the Kovacic and Lovren, whose Croatia side reached the World Cup final earlier this year.
Ironically, there is a feeling among many Liverpool supporters that Lovren is a player with mistakes in him, with a squad role best for him moving forward.
The imperious form of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez has often kept the 29-year-old out of the team, but Jurgen Klopp will still see him as an important player.
Reds fans will hope Kovacic’s throwaway comments won’t come to fruition by the time May rolls around.
