The Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce has claimed that Fenerbahce are eager to sign Reds central defender Joel Matip.
The Cameroon international has been replaced in Jürgen Klopp’s starting XI by Joe Gomez, and has made just two starts for the club so far this season.
Goalkeeper Loris Karius has already made the move to Besiktas so far this year, but it seems that Matip could be following his former teammate to the Super Lig, should Fenerbahce stump up enough money.

The former Schalke man joined Liverpool in 2016, signing on a free transfer. Matip’s contract is due to run out at Anfield at the end of the 2019-20 season.
Matip has made 73 appearances for Liverpool in his time on Merseyside, but seems to have an unclear role in the team following the emergence of Gomez as the preferred partner for Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the back four.
