Joe Gomez is expected to be the next Liverpool player to sign a new deal at Anfield, report the Times.
The news comes after Sadio Mane committed his long-term future to the Reds, penning a new-and-improved contract on Thursday.
Liverpool are thought to have “opened talks” with Gomez with regards to his future, with the club keen to nail down one of their most prized assets.
Gomez has arguably been his side’s best player so far this season, producing a string of outstanding performances.
Used in his preferred centre-back role by Jurgen Klopp, the 21-year-old has formed a great understanding with Virgil van Dijk.

Gomez is one of English football’s most exiting prospects in years and looks like being a key man for club and country for the next decade.
He has come on leaps and bounds since a tough start at Liverpool which saw him pick up a cruciate ligament injury in 2015.
The continued rise of full-back duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson is also set to be “recognised”, with new deals coming their way soon.
It is refreshing to see the club acting swiftly to ensure they tie down those individuals key to the Klopp revolution.
Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino put pen to paper on new deals earlier in the year.
