Marko Grujic hailed as Hertha Berlin’s “best midfielder” in years

Marko Grujic has received enormous praise from Hertha Berlin manager Pal Dardai, following an impressive run of form for the German club.

Grujic is on loan from Liverpool as he looks to mature as a player and his performances have caught the eye of late.

The 22-year-old scored the only goal in Hertha’s 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday – his first for the club.

Dardai came out with some huge words to reporters after the game, hailing Grujic as the club’s best midfielder in a generation:

I have been with Hertha for 22 years.

That’s not supposed to be an insult to the others – but Marko [Grujic] is by far the best midfielder I’ve seen at Hertha during that time.

Grujic recently hinted that he would like to stay at Hertha for a second season, as long as they qualify for the Europa League.

His chances at Liverpool are currently limited, but Jurgen Klopp is believed to see him as a key man in the long-term.
