Liverpool are one of a host of top clubs interested in signing highly-rated Germany youngster Kai Havertz.

According to Sport Bild, via Sport Witness, the Bayer Leverkusen star is being closely watched by many of Europe’s top clubs.

That includes the Reds, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

At just 19, the German midfielder is seen as one of Europe’s outstanding young prospects, so it is no surprise to see such a level of interest shown.

City are the most recent team to be linked with Havertz, with the champions thought to be in regular contact with the player’s agency.

The teenager’s contract at Leverkusen expires in 2022 and he only extended his deal in July, so a hefty bid from Liverpool would be required to prise him away, should Jurgen Klopp feel the need to add midfield depth.

Leverkusen fear not playing in Europe next season could be a major issue in terms of keeping Havertz, with Heiko Herrlich’s side currently 11th in the Bundesliga.

Havertz has won two caps for Germany, making his debut against Peru in September.
