Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has discussed rejecting a move to Liverpool back in the summer of 2016.
Aouar was just a teenager at the time, with Jurgen Klopp keen to bring him to Anfield.
A move never materialised, however, with the 20-year-old signing his first professional contract at Lyon, where he remains currently.
Speaking to Planete Lyon, Aouar gave his reasoning for not joining the Klopp revolution two and a half years ago:

Before I signed my first professional contract with Lyon in July 2016, Liverpool were interested in me.
I thought about it hard with those close to me on the decision I needed to take, what was better for my progression.
And I opted for Lyon because it is the club of my heart and my aim was to succeed here, in my city.
Aouar has since flourished in a Lyon shirt, becoming a key man as the Ligue 1 club look forward to a Champions League last 16 clash with Barcelona next month.
