Alisson reveals why he chose to join Liverpool in the summer

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has revealed why he chose to join Jurgen Klopp’s side from Roma last summer.

The Brazilian international has claimed that he chose Liverpool over Chelsea as he wanted to be playing Champions League football.

Chelsea missed out of Europe’s top competition last season and having been playing in the Europa League under Maurizio Sarri.

Liverpool, meanwhile, were in the final of the Champions League in 2018 and have progressed through to the last 16 this term.

Speaking to Gianluca Di Marzio, Alisson said this:

I chose Liverpool for the same reasons why I had chosen Rome when I left Brazil, considering it as the best move for my career Chelsea was changing the coach and not playing in the Champions League, I have always admired Liverpool’shistory , it is a club that has won five European Cups I wanted to be part of that history. with Roma and I’m working hard to try and do it with Liverpool What is life if not to fight for one’s dreams? I dream of the Champions.

Alisson was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea from Roma, before he rejected the Blues and sealed a switch to Anfield.

He has been in impressive form since his move and has 12 Premier League clean sheets this season – leaving him on course to claim the Golden Glove at the end of the campaign.
