Van Dijk trains ahead of Brighton clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been given a massive boost ahead of his side’s clash with Brighton this weekend, as Virgil Van Dijk has trained this week.

Van Dijk was left out of the Liverpool squad for the third round of the FA Cup as Klopp watched his side lose 2-1 to Wolves on Monday night.

Klopp said that Van Dijk was struggling with a minor injury, but the Dutchman appears to be over his knock.

The Liverpool Echo has confirmed that Van Dijk has trained this week and should be fully fit to face Brighton.

Liverpool have a four point lead at the top of the Premier League as it stands, despite losing 2-1 to 2nd-place Manchester City last week.

Van Dijk has been in imperious form at the back for Liverpool and would have been a massive blow for the side, especially given the absence of Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip.
