James Milner has total faith in Liverpool recovering from their current “blip”, in their quest for Premier League glory.
The Reds have lost twice in a row in the last week, seeing their unbeaten league run end at Manchester City before exiting the FA Cup at the hands of Wolves.
Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Brighton on Saturday afternoon knowing that a return to winning ways is imperative.
Milner has tipped Liverpool to “bounce back” from this mini-slump, telling Liverpoolfc.com that it can happen to any team:
We have to make sure we bounce back and look at where we can get better.
You’re never going to go a full season without having blips. I think at the start of this season we weren’t playing our best but we were getting results.
[It’s] back-to-back defeats now, which really isn’t good enough for us, but you have blips in a season. It’s about how you respond.
I think you’ve seen the character in the squad in the last few years, and the players we have, to know we will bounce back.
We have to show that, though. It’s easy saying it in an interview, we have to do it on the pitch at the weekend.
The Reds know that a win at Brighton will put them seven points clear of City, who host Wolves on Monday night.
Getting a victory would immediately put a stop to any notion that Liverpool are starting to feel the pressure in the title race.
