Loan Watch: How did Liverpool’s loan players fare at the weekend?

It was a thriller at Anfield for the Reds on Saturday as they continued their title push with a 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace.

But how did those who are out on loan perform for their teams at the weekend?

Nathaniel Clyne – Bournemouth

Clyne played again at right back for the full game and helped his team to a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory over West Ham.

Callum Wilson and Joshua King got the goals that made sure the Cherries remained in 12th place in the Premier League.

Danny Ings – Southampton

Ings returned for Southampton and got back to winning ways as the Saints beat Everton 2-1 at St Mary’s – he played 74 minutes before being replaced by Shane Long.

James Ward-Prowse and a Lucas Digne own goal for Southampton secured the win for the Saints.

Southampton are now out of the relegation zone and in 15th place in the Premier League.

Harry Wilson – Derby County & Ovie Ejaria

Wilson maintained his good form for Derby with a goal, an assist and another Man of the Match performance against Ejaria’s Reading 2-1.

Wilson played 91 minutes in the midfield three before being replaced by George Evans and Ejaria, playing again at left midfield, got an assist.

Duane Holmes got the other goal for the Rams and Sone Aluko scored for Reading, the home side remained in sixth place in the Championship and Reading are now in 22nd place, still in the relegation zone.

Ben Woodburn – Sheffield United

Woodburn’s loan spell has not officially ended yet and his side were beaten 1-0 by Swansea away from home.

Oli McBurnie got the goal and Sheffield United dropped down to third in the Championship.

Adam Bogdan – Hibernian

Bogdan kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 victory over Elgin City in the Scottish FA Cup.

Florian Kamberi, Daryl Horgan (2) and Stevie Mallan got the goals that ensured the Edinburgh side were in the pot for the next round.

Marko Grujic – Hertha Berlin

The Bundesliga returned to action and so did the Serbian as he played 57 minutes in central midfield in a 3-1 victory over FC Nurnberg away from home.

Vedad Ibisevic and Ondrej Duda (2) scored for Berlin and Hanno Behrens got the goal for the home side – Berlin moved up to seventh place in the table.

Allan de Souza– Hertha Berlin

Allan’s Hertha were also in action after the break, but he was absent from the matchday squad – Frankfurt beat Freiberg 3-1 at home.

Sebastien Haller, Ante Rebic and Luka Jovic got the goals for the home side and Nilas Petersen scored for Freiberg.

Frankfurt moved up to third place in the Bundesliga.

Loris Karius – Besiktas

Karius played the full game in goal but conceded in a 3-1 victory over Akhisarspor away from home.

Dorukhan Tokoz, Gokhan Gonul and Cyle Larin got the goals for Besiktas and Sokol Cikalleshi got the consolation for the home side.

Besiktas moved up to sixth place in the Turkish Super Lig following the result.

Sheyi Ojo – Stade Reims

Ojo played seven minutes at the end of the match, replacing Mathieu Cafaro in a 1-1 draw with Nice at home.

Remi Oudin scored for Stade Reims and Remi Walter got a 99th-minute equaliser for the travelling side – Reims moved down to 11th place in Ligue 1.

Taiwo Awoniyi – Royal Mouscron

After a disappointing loan spell with Gent, the under 23s striker marked his debut for Royal Mouscron over in Belgium with a goal, as he replaced Frank Boya in the 64th minute and scored four minutes later.

They beat KV Oostende 2-1 at home and rose up to 14th in the Belgian First Division A.

Kamil Grabara’s AGF Aarhus over in Denmark did not have a game due to the league still being inactive and Ryan Kent’s Rangers game against Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup was called off due to a frozen pitch.
