Jurgen Klopp has stressed he believes Liverpool is the right club for him after Franz Beckenbauer claimed he would be the perfect candidate to take charge of Bayern Munich.
Klopp watched his Liverpool side dump Bayern out of the Champions League Round of 16 in midweek with a 3-1 win at the Allianz Arena and sounds like he’s more than content with the progress the club is making.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of today’s clash at Fulham, the German boss squashed Beckenbauer’s claims and insisted he feels he’s the right fit for Liverpool.
From my point of view, being here at Liverpool is a really good fit. I love it. The club has given me a lot of opportunities to develop a really good football team. I have enough confidence to say I am the right manager for this club at this moment.
Bayern were reportedly close to appointing the 51-year-old as their boss all the way back in 2008, but eventually went for Jurgen Klinsmann instead before Klopp achieved success with Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
His contract at Anfield runs until 2022 and, at the moment, it seems like he fully intends to see that deal out.
