Liverpool have enjoyed a hugely successful season so far, and there is still plenty to play for.
The Reds are currently sat at the very top of the Premier League table and ahead of the reigning champions Manchester City, who have a game in hand on their title challengers.
Jurgen Klopp has also led his side to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will take on FC Porto over two legs.
The full focus for the manager and his squad will be on securing silverware this season, but a big transfer window undoubtedly awaits the Reds ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Liverpool’s recruitment in recent years has been shrewd under the management of Klopp, and the German will be keen to land yet more quality in the summer.
One market that the Reds should explore is in Italy, with Serie A boasting a vast amount of immensely talented footballers who would improve the first-team options at Anfield.
So, take a look at some players from the top flight of Italian football who Liverpool should consider pursuing this summer!
Romagnoli is AC Milan’s captain and has developed into an exceptional centre-back this season. He’d add a quality option to Klopp’s squad.
Dybala has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer. It’d be a massive signing for the Reds and one that could take their attacking threat to a new level.
Rogerio is playing for Sassuolo on loan from Juventus this season. The promising Brazilian has looked sharp at left-back and would be a suitable replacement for Alberto Moreno, providing competition for Andy Robertson in the process.
Cutrone’s future at AC Milan is uncertain following the arrival of Krzysztof Piatek in January. Liverpool would benefit from having a striker of his quality available next season.
Belotti, too, would add a reliable attacking option. He’s looked sharp for Torino this season and has proven in the past years that he can score goals freely when provided with sufficient service.
Audero is currently on loan at Sampdoria from Juventus. The young goalkeeper has been impressive this season and would provide Liverpool with a high-quality understudy for Alisson.
Chiesa has long been regarded as Fiorentina’s talisman. Capable of playing up top or on either wing, the Italian international would give Klopp the flexibility and depth that is required at Liverpool.
Re-signing Suso would be a smart move from the Reds. The Spaniard was particularly exceptional for Milan in the first half of the season and would be an excellent creative player to have ahead of next season.
