Bogdan returns to light training

Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has returned to light training after being given the all-clear by a specialist, following prolonged struggles with concussion.

The Hungary international, who is currently on loan with Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership, hasn’t played since being substituted against Elgin City in January following a head injury.

The injury was first described as nothing more than a precautionary measure, before it was later revealed to be more serious.

Bogdan sat out Hibernian’s next two games, before returning to the bench. However, he was soon left out of the match-day squad once again, and hasn’t been involved in the match-day squad for the club’s last four games.

Head coach Paul Heckingbottom has revealed that Bogdan had been sent to see a specialist, having struggled with the after effects of the initial concussion. As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Heckingbottom said:

We had him in the squad when we came in as he returned from concussion but then he didn’t feel right. He wasn’t happy. He was still having the symptoms.

You cannot be too careful with a head injury but Adam has been to see a specialist who was happy while the scans came back clear.

We’ve also been working closely with Liverpool and now Adam is doing low-key training and, although we haven’t set any sort of timescale on his return, we hope to have him out working on the grass soon.

Bogdan hasn’t played for Liverpool since May 2016 and is set to leave Jurgen Klopp’s side on a free transfer at the end of his contract this summer.
