As the season comes to a close, it is safe to say that Liverpool have been one of the standout performers in the league.
It has been a thrilling title race between the Reds and Manchester City, with spectators still unsure of who will take the 2018/19 title.
Liverpool have one of the best squads the club have seen in recent history, with the additions that Klopp has made, he has built a team that have challenged for all major competitions this season.
The Reds have only seen defeat once this season because of a solid defence and their world-class Dutchman Virgil van Dijk.
They also boast one of the most prolific attacking forces in the league with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, all scoring 61 goals between them this season.
With various players already being linked with moves to Anfield next season, and the talent they already have in the team, Liverpool’s XI could look a little different by the time the new season rolls around.

The Brazillian has had an impressive first season with the Reds, tallying 23 clean sheets in his 45 appearances. Since joining from Roma, he has shown his acrobatic skill between the sticks and his Brazillian nature allows him to be good with his feet.
RB - Trent Alexander-Arnold
With eight assists this season, the young Englishman is the perfect example of a modern day wing back. At only 20 years of age, Alexander-Arnold will be a hot prospect and start in the Liverpool squad for many years to come.
CB - Virgil van Dijk
Signing for a staggering £75 million from Southampton last year, the Dutch centre half has proved he is reliable, strong, and tidy in defence; experts argue he is one of the best defenders in the world right now.
CB - Joe Gomez/Matthijs de Ligt
Despite being injured for the majority of this season, Gomez has impressed in his 20 senior appearances, and playing alongside van Dijk next season will only push him to fulfil his potential.
Liverpool have also been heavily linked with Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt, however, it will be a fierce battle for his signature, with the 19-year-old being linked with Barcelona.
LB - Andrew Robertson

CDM - Fabinho
The defensive midfielder has been a vital figure in Liverpool’s title-challenging season since joining from Monaco and will surely be a part of Klopp’s plans next season.
CM - Jordan Henderson
The Liverpool captain has been displaying his ability in the number eight role towards the end of the season and is a leader from the middle of the pitch.
CM - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Another player who has struggled with injuries this season, the English midfielder is able to take the ball forward and also plays his part in defending.
With his impressive performances this season, Klopp may decide to rotate Ox with Dutch midfielder Gini Wijnaldum, as his impressive striking ability and control in midfield is something any team would look for in a player. Whoever starts, both have displayed their ability to cover while the attacking fullbacks go forward.
RW - Mohamed Salah
Undoubtedly one of the best players to play for Liverpool in recent history, the Egyptian winger doesn’t even need to think twice about whether he will be in Klopps’ plans for next season. He has 23 goals and nine assists for the Reds this season.
ST - Roberto Firmino
Clinical finisher Roberto Firmino has linked up perfectly with Salah and Mane on the wing this season, making them one of the most threatening trios in Europe, scoring 61 goals between them.
LW - Sadio Mane/Julian Brandt
The Senegal winger has been in great form this season and his electric pace and finishing ability are enough to give the best defenders in the world nightmares.
Liverpool have also been linked with the transfer of young German winger Julian Brandt. Should Klopp pursue the purchase, it would give him even more attacking options when laying out his starting XI next season.
Honourable mentions
Marko Grujic – The young Serbian midfielder has performed well while out on loan in the Bundesliga, and could well be an option for Klopp’s ever-rotating midfield when he returns next season.
James Milner – Full of passion and determination, the Englishman is able to slot into a variety of positions when called upon and will be an important piece for the Liverpool squad next season.
Lorenzo Insigne – The Italian winger has had an incredible spell at Napoli, however recently the relationship between him and the club has been in turmoil, causing Liverpool to take interest in the winger. The 27-year-old could be a fine addition to the squad for the 2019/20 season.
