With just three games remaining for both title challenging sides all Liverpool can do is continue to win and hope for the best.
Before Manchester City head to Turf Moor on Sunday, Liverpool will have a chance to go back on top when they welcome Huddersfield.
Liverpool must continue their good run to keep up with City and will be heavy favourites to pick up all three points.
Huddersfield meanwhile currently sit rock bottom with just three wins all season and have nothing to play for as their relegation was confirmed a few weeks back. They enter this match having not picked up a single point in the last seven matches but will look to head back into the Championship with their spirits high.
I spoke to Huddersfield fan @VitalHtafc to get their thoughts on the Terriers season, looking forward to the Championship, Jan Siewert and the upcoming game.

After a dream season where the club stayed in the Premier League Huddersfield will be going down as they currently sit rock bottom. With just three wins all season what went so wrong this time out after last season?
We’ve had a lot of bad luck this season go against us, narrowly losing games early in the campaign and seemingly everything hanging on a referees decision, not to get a penalty at home vs Liverpool then concede immediately after on the counter being one of them.
Jan Siewert was hired as permanent manager after the departure of the very popular and successful David Wagner. What are your thoughts on Siewert’s time at the club so far and do you see him leading the club into the Championship next season?
Jan has been left with a squad riddled with injuries and an already accepted fate of dropping down a tier. He’s come under fire from some fans for not having a formula but only the age-old test of time will show if he can get us moving in the right direction again, big summer ahead.

Going into the season did you expect relegation or did you think the club would have been able to build on last season’s success?
We knew relegation was always a possibility, I think what has disappointed has been the lack of fight shown whilst going down, even to date of setting a target of catching Fulham but the omission of key players hamstrung that. The Premier League is a tough competition and when not fighting on an even financial footing relegation is always likely.
What’s next for Huddersfield after this season? Do you see the club coming straight back up?
Personally, I see next season as being a bit of consolidation with the club establishing itself as a Championship club, promotion is, of course, possible but there will be a likely large turn over in personnel which presents its own challenges.
What is the mood amongst the fans as they prepare to head back to the Championship?
Fairly deflated at the relegation but the support of the team remains and with 18000 season cards on the verge of being sold the club is still extremely well supported. Everyone is looking forward to next season and seeing goals and wins again!
Looking forward to the actual game now what are Huddersfield’s biggest strength and weakness?

Town like to play a patient passing style of play somewhat too patient with a lack of killer balls hitting the front men. Recently the style has changed so much though with tactical tinkering with an eye on next season, we’ve got pace on the break with Karlan Grant now and a real goal threat. Town like to press the ball and the man but the intensity isn’t the same as last season and even earlier in the campaign with relegation already confirmed.
Who has been the sides best player so far this season and who has been the worse or most disappointing?
Very tough to pick the best player and a most disappointing one as it’s not been an enjoyable campaign for anyone. Since coming back from injury Aaron Mooy who is our main man just hasn’t been the same largely as he’s been played out of position and regaining match fitness and an obvious lack of confidence, Steve Mounie has also failed to hit the net on a regular basis which is disappointing but again comes down to confidence or lack thereof it. Seeing Phil Billing step up a gear or two has been a highlight but the fact he wants to leave the club in the summer has disappointed fans in the way the news came about. Karlan Grant despite being here since January has been a shining beacon of hope for next season.

What must Huddersfield do to get a result on Sunday?
Hope Liverpool have a real off day in front of goal! Simple as that.
What is your biggest worry heading into the game?
That it could be a large scoreline of 4,5,6 not that it really matters at this stage.
How do you rate this Liverpool side?
Very solid team with some really strong individual talents in Salah, Firmino and van Dijk. It also has a crazy passionate German in charge which is always entertaining plus the style of play is what everyone wants to see, high pressure attacking football.

Which Liverpool player has impressed you the most this season?
The obvious choice is Salah but van Dijk is what’s made Liverpool better this season no longer do they look frail at the back and the defender has a threat at the other end of the field as well.
How do you see Siewert lining up his side?
The line up has altered so much in recent weeks your guess is as good as mine! We know Lossl will start in goal as Hamer has picked up a mysterious injury but other than that most places in the team have been up for grabs with 4-5 changes made from previous line ups. At the best guess, I’d say. Lossl; Smith, Kongolo, Schindler, Durm; Stankovic, Lowe, Mooy, Bacuna, Diakhaby; Grant
How do you see the match playing out?
Liverpool win.
