Rhian Brewster could make Liverpool debut against Barcelona

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Rhian Brewster could be handed his Liverpool debut against Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The Reds trail 3-0 from the Champions League semi-final first leg clash at Camp Nou, with a huge mountain to climb.

Klopp will also be without both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, making their task all the more difficult.

The Liverpool manager says Brewster may make a shock debut at some point in proceedings, on what is sure to be a proud night for the highly-rated striker.

Rhian has been in just outstanding shape for the last three or four weeks, but the other players were there as well.

It’s just good so now it’s really nice in a difficult situation that we can give him that spot in the squad and have him there to bring on as a striker.

Brewster is seen as one of Liverpool’s most exciting Academy prospects in years, with a regular first team place predicted in the future.

The 19-year-old has suffered terrible luck with injuries over the past year or so, but seeing him enter the fray on Tuesday evening would be a special sight.

Something close to a miracle is required for the Reds, but Anfield can do funny things to opposition players on European nights.
