Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is an injury doubt ahead of his side’s clash with Liverpool in the Champions League final later next month.
Liverpool produced one of the greatest footballing comebacks of all time when they defeated Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield on Tuesday to overcome the 3-0 deficit the week before.

The Merseyside club discovered who they would face in Madrid on Wednesday night as Spurs themselves produced an impressive comeback of their own as a Lucas Moura hat-trick sealed the win.

However, he goes on to suggest that the Tottenham medical staff believe that it is a minor ankle injury picked up during the first half of the battle against Ajax, so it remains to be seen if he will be able to feature in Madrid.

The loss of the defender for the match would be a massive blow to Tottenham ahead of an all-English Champions League final.
