Loan Watch: How did Liverpool’s loan players fare at the weekend?

A 2-0 win against Wolverhampton wasn’t enough to claim the title as Manchester City secured top spot with a win in their game against Brighton.

Attentions now turn to the Champions League final against Tottenham on June 1st – but for now, we take a look at how the Liverpool players out on loan did in their games as the season comes to a close.

Danny Ings – Southampton

Ings played 76 minutes upfront for Southampton and got an assist in the Saints’ 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield.

Nathan Redmond scored Southampton’s goal and Alex Pritchard got the goal for Huddersfield as Southampton finished the season in 16th place safe from relegation.

Ings is set to become a Southampton player permanently in the coming weeks.

Nathaniel Clyne – Bournemouth

Clyne played 89 minutes for Bournemouth and got an assist at left-back before being replaced by Sam Surridge.

The Cherries were beaten 5-3 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Jefferson Lerma, Jordon Ibe and Joshua King scored for Bournemouth.

Michy Batshuyai (2), Jack Simpson (o.g.), Patrick van Aanholt and Andros Townsend scored for Palace and Bournemouth finished the season in 14th place in the Premier League.

Harry Wilson – Derby County

Wilson played the full game at right wing but couldn’t find away through for Derby as Leeds beat the Rams 1-0 at Pride Park thanks to a goal from Kemar Roofe.

Derby finished the season in sixth place but they have a second leg to play against Leeds on Wednesday night.

Ovie Ejaria – Reading

Ejaria played the full game in central midfield as Reading drew with Birmingham 0-0 in their last game of the season.

The Royals finished in 20th place in the Championship, avoiding relegation to League One.

Ryan Kent – Rangers

Kent played the full game at left wing as his side Rangers beat bitter rivals Celtic 2-0 at Ibrox with James Tavernier and Scott Arfield scoring the goals.

Rangers remained in second place in the Scottish Premiership behind already champions Celtic.

Liam Millar –Kilmarnock & Adam Bogdan – Hibernian

Millar came on in the 79th minute for Chris Burke at right wing & Ofir Marciano was preferred to in goal.

Eamonn Brophy scored the goal of the game as Killy remained in third place and Hibs remained in fifth place with one more game to go in the Scottish Premiership.

Marko Grujic – Hertha Berlin

Grujic scored and played the full game in CDM in a 4-2-3-1 formation during a 4-3 victory over Augsburg away from home.

Marvin Plattenhardt and Salomon Kalou (2) scored the other goals for Berlin and Andre Hahn and Michael Gregoritsch (2) scored for the home side.

Berlin moved up to 10th place in the Bundesliga with one game to go in Germany.

Loris Karius – Besiktas

Karius played the full game in goal but conceded one in a 2-1 win over Alanyaspor at home in the Turkish Super Lig.

Adem Ljajic and Ricardo Quaresma scored for Besiktas and Caner Erkin scored an own goal for the visitors.

Karius’ side remained in third place – a Europa League qualification spot with two games to go for the season.

Sheyi Ojo – Stade Reims

Ojo came off the bench in the 83rd minute for defensive midfielder Alaixys Romao as an attacking change.

Reims were beaten 3-2 by Caen away from home with Moussa Doumbia and Arber Zeneli scored for Ojo’s side and Casimir Ninga, Faycal Fajr and Frederic Guilbert got the goals for Caen.

Reims remained in ninth place in Ligue 1 with two games to go.

Pedro Chirivella – Extremadura UD

Chirivella again didn’t feature for Extremadura as his side were beaten 3-0 by Real Zaragoza at home.

Casto (o.g.), Pep Mas and Jorge Pombo scored the goals over in Spain and Extremadura moved down to 15th place in the Spanish Segunda Division.

Kamil Grabara –AGF Aarhus

Grabara again played the full game in goal and kept a clean sheet as AGF beat AaB 2-0 at home.

Bror Blume and Alexander Ammitzbell scored the goals for AGF as they advance in the Europa League Play-offs.

Taiwo Awoniyi – Royal Mouscron

Awoniyi got on the scoresheet again for Mouscron in a 3-3 draw with Union Saint-Gilloise away from home over in Belgium.

Manuel Benson scored the other two goals for the Nigerian’s side and Percy Tau (2) and Abdelrafik Gerard scored for the home team.

Mouscron still sit in sixth place in Group B of the Belgian First Division A Play-offs.

Allan de Souza – Fluminense

Allan played the full game in CDM in a 4-2-3-1 formation and picked up a yellow card for Fluminense as they were beaten 1-0 by Botafogo at home.

Alex Santana scored the goal of that game and despite the defeat, Allan’s side moved up to 15th place in the Brazilian Serie A.
