Steven Gerrard looking to take Ojo to Rangers

Steven Gerrard is reportedly eyeing up a move for Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo as he looks to bolster his attacking options at Rangers this summer.

The Gers are looking to get business done swiftly and Gerrard knows the 21-year-old well from his previous job coaching the Liverpool U18s.

According to Football Insider, cited by Express Sport, the Reds legend has led negotiations and wants to utilise Ojo the same way Jurgen Klopp uses Mohamed Salah.

Gerrard has promised the left-footed winger he can realise his potential in Scotland, similarly to loanee Ryan Kent last season, and reignite a stagnated career so far.

Ojo has spent most of his career on loan at Championship clubs – Wigan, Wolves and Fulham – and most recently spent a lacklustre spell at Reims in France.

He made 16 appearances in total for the side that finished 8th in Ligue 1, scoring one goal in the Coupe de la Ligue.

Rangers are thought to be one of a number of clubs eager to sign Ojo, who moved to Anfield for £2million from MK Dons as a 14-year-old.
