Liverpool have made an enquiry to Cardiff City about the availability of their goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, according to a report from Wales Online.
With Simon Mignolet hoping to leave Anfield in the summer and Loris Karius likely to stay with Besiktas, the Reds have a vacancy for a back-up goalkeeper and it looks like Etheridge is one of the players they are looking at to come in as the deputy to Alisson.
The 29-year-old played all 38 league games for the Bluebirds last season, keeping ten clean sheets, but ultimately, that wasn’t enough to keep them in the Premier League.
Since Cardiff’s relegation, Etheridge has been linked to numerous clubs, with Aston Villa even having an £8m bid for him rejected by Neil Warnock’s side.
Whether Liverpool are willing to outbid that amount in order to sign a back up remains to be seen, but it does look like at least one new goalkeeper will arrive at Anfield this summer.
