Liverpool are not pursuing a deal for Cardiff City goalkeeper despite previous claims suggesting that they had made an enquiry, The Liverpool Echo reports.
Simon Mignolet could seek a move away from Anfield, having watched from the bench as Allison produced a show-stopping performance in the Champions League final to add to the 21 Premier League clean sheets he racked up in a mightily impressive debut season at the club.
Etheridge, meanwhile, experienced a drastically different introduction to life in the Premier League, as he was handed the unthankful task of ensuring an inexperienced and underfunded Cardiff City team could withstand relegation from the Premier League.

Despite failing to stay up, Etheridge still managed to amass plenty of admirers, making the most saves from the penalty spot of any goalkeeper in the league.
Other Premier League outfits could look to hand the Philippines international an instant return to the top flight, but one club who have seemingly ruled themselves out of contention is Liverpool.
With Loris Karius on loan at Besiktas for at least another season, Klopp could still pursue a new goalkeeper, even if Etheridge is not on his radar.
