Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has urged Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to pursue a move for the highly sought after Bruno Fernandes this summer amid interest from fellow Premier League rivals.
Fernandes was one of the standout midfielders in European football last season, scoring an impressive 32 goals and creating 16 assists in all competitions for Sporting Lisbon.
The Portugal international has since been linked with a move to a number of Premier League sides, and Nicol told ESPN FC that Klopp should look to sign the midfielder this summer.
I think this would be a decent signing for Liverpool. I think he’s got a little bit more quality in the final third than what they [Liverpool] have right now, so I think Bruno Fernandes would be a good addition.

Liverpool need to get a bigger squad so that they can give people a break without the standard dropping. I think this could be a hit, I think this could be a good signing.
Interest in Fernandes is said to be high, with Sky Sports suggesting Liverpool will have to rival both Tottenham and Manchester United in the pursuit for the midfielder.
