Despite winning the Champions League last season, Wolves defender Conor Coady believes Liverpool should have also claimed the Premier League title as well, rather than eventual winners Manchester City.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the former Reds youngster explained why he believes his ex-club should have done the double after losing out by just a single point on the final day of the campaign.
Anybody would tell you the same, not just Liverpool fans; the way they did it and how they played, they deserved to win the league.
Coady made less than a handful of appearances for Liverpool before moving on in 2014, however, he still holds the club close to his heart.
Should Liverpool claim the Premier League next season, Coady believes they will have to replicate the form they showed last time out, but with champions Manchester City already starting to strengthen, there will be no let-up for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
To gather 97 points over a season is absolutely remarkable, they lost one game against Manchester City – which is ridiculous. The way they have gone about it, they can be proud.
Klopp will be hoping to prove Coady right next season but for now, the plans for pre-season are well underway.
