Reports on Thursday revealed that Pepe’s agent had flown into Italy for talks regarding a possible move to Napoli as the race for his signature continues to heat up.
Liverpool have long been linked with a move for the Ivory Coast international, but it seems they may have to step up their pursuit if they are serious about signing him.
Pepe was in fine form for Lille last season. He helped them to a second-place finish behind Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, scoring 22 times and assisting 11 goals.
