Liverpool are set to pursue a new backup goalkeeper in the remaining days of the transfer window, with Simon Mignolet joining Club Brugge.
The Belgium international departs for an initial fee of €7 million, which could rise by a further €2 million should additional bonuses be reached.
Jurgen Klopp has not overseen the signing of a single senior player yet, and the window slams shut for Premier League clubs on Thursday evening.
However, with Mignolet sealing a return to his homeland, it seems Liverpool will look to sign a goalkeeper to act as a deputy to Alisson, who will continue as the club’s first choice in between the sticks.
The Reds are likely to be reluctant to spend a significant sum on the acquisition of a new shot-stopper, but will also know that finding a player of adequate quality is a necessity.
Take a look at 10 goalkeepers who we feel Liverpool could consider replacing Mignolet with this week.
