Fabinho’s wife mocks rumoured move to Real Madrid – why would Liverpool sell him?

Any report linking Fabinho with a move away from Liverpool is nonsensical, with the midfielder an integral figure under Jurgen Klopp.

Reports in South America on Tuesday suggested the Brazilian could move to Real Madrid in a £60 million this summer.

Those claims were quickly swatted aside by Fabinho’s wife, the entertaining Rebecca Tavares, who took to Twitter to post a simple eye-rolling GIF:

Some transfer stories are believable, but these links were worth ignoring from the second they appeared.

Fabinho has recovered from a slow start at Liverpool to become one of the most important members of the team.

He has made the No.6 spot his own, excelling in front of the defence and combining expert positional sense with an intelligent use of the ball.

At 25, he is only going to improve in the coming years and selling him will be right at the back of Klopp’s mind.

As the Reds head into a new season, Fabinho is arguably their most important midfielder.
