After a 10-year spell at the club, Lucas Leiva’s Liverpool career came to an end in July 2017 when he moved to Serie A side Lazio.
The central midfielder appeared for the Reds under the management of top class managers during his time at Anfield, from Rafa Benitez to Jurgen Klopp.
In his early days, Lucas wore the Liverpool shirt in a time of change on Merseyside and many supporters took to the infectious Brazilian.
His happy-go-lucky character and interaction with the fans made him a popular man in Liverpool, while his performances were defensively sound and consistent.
Lucas is one of several Brazilians who have appeared for Liverpool in recent years, with Roberto Firmino the current South American hero for the Reds.
Whether it has been through creative flair or defensive solidity, Brazilian players have contributed greatly to Liverpool’s proud history.
