Leighton Clarkson was called up to train with Liverpool’s first team on Tuesday, according to the Liverpool Echo.
It’s not the first time it has happened, with the 17-year-old finishing off a slick move involving Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson that went viral last week.
Clarkson signed his first professional contract with the Reds in July and it’s clear that he is thought of highly at the club.
Jurgen Klopp is thought to be keeping “close tabs” on the midfielder, which can only bode well for him.
Liverpool supporters have reacted to the news on Twitter, finding plenty of positives.

By the way I saw people asking yesterday about who the kid was that finished off the move; I’m pretty sure it’s Leighton Clarkson https://t.co/aO2fGUgYeE

Clarkson must be on cloud nine at the moment, training alongside some of the better players in the world.
He has got the call-up to first team training because of his own quality, though, and he is an exciting prospect.
In Klopp, Clarkson has a manager who is a strong advocate of youth and is not afraid of throwing youngsters in at the deep end.
Chances are, the teenager will return to the academy for the time being, but he is most certainly one to watch.
