Top of the table and how good it feels!
Liverpool’s August was almost as successful as they come.
They beat Norwich City on the opening day, ground out a win away to Southampton, continued their domination of Arsenal at Anfield then went to Burnley and won 3-0.
That’s not to mention winning the UEFA Super Cup over Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, in a penalty shootout without their main goalkeeper, no less!
It wasn’t all roses though, with the Reds’ only defeat coming in the Community Shield against Manchester City.
Michael Edwards snuck in some transfers before the window closed, sending Simon Mignolet to Club Brugge and replacing him with Adrian, in a now crucial move.
Fellow new signings Harvey Elliot and Sepp van den Berg put on the Red shirt for the first time in August, although their first-team debuts are still likely to be a way away.
