Fabinho has recovered from a forgettable start at Liverpool to become the Premier League’s most destructing defensive midfielder.
The 25-year-old was on top form as Jurgen Klopp’s side dispatched of Burnley 3-0 on Saturday, returning to the top of the Premier League in the process.
His physicality allowed him to boss the midfield battle, again showing what a key man he has become.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the match, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher described Fabinho as the “best” at what he does:
I actually think he’s the best in the Premier League now in that position.
Fernandinho looks like he’s fading out of the City team and Rodri is just coming in but I think since Christmas when he came in [to the team] you could argue he was Liverpool’s best player last season.

Carragher is right in singling out Fabinho as the best No.6 the Premier League has to offer currently.
Like so many players in that deep-lying role, his influence isn’t always noticed, but he has become indispensable to Klopp.
The Reds haven’t had a player of such quality in that role since Javier Mascherano almost a decade ago.
While the front-three, Virgil van Dijk and full-back pair often earn more column inches, Fabinho is becoming the glue that holds Liverpool together.
He is a midfield monster who very few get the better of, as he continues to adjust superbly to life in England.
