Roberto Firmino is one of the world’s most unique and influential attacking players, yet he still feels criminally underrated by some.
The Brazilian was exceptional for Liverpool on Saturday, scoring and assisting as the Reds won 3-0 at Burnley.
Speaking after the game, with quotes provided by Sky Sports, Andy Robertson hailed his teammate’s brilliance:
With his work rate, his technique, his goals and his all-round play, I don’t think there’s anyone like him.
People will say there are better strikers, but for me what he does is so important to our team. We’d be lost without him. He’s world class.
He does everything, and that’s the beauty of Bobby. He can do it all. He’s our first line of defence, and I’ve not seen anybody better at doing that.
He’s so important defensively for us, then he goes up the park and scores goals and makes assists. That’s what we need him to do.

Robertson’s assessment of Firmino is spot on – there really is nobody like him as a player.
Not only is he an extremely gifted forward with a world class touch and appreciation of those around him, but his work-rate and general off-the-ball brilliance are unrivalled for a striker.
Rival supporters continue to underrate him because they don’t watch him every week, and when they do, they miss the subtle things that make him so special.
In an attacking sense, Firmino is Liverpool’s most important player, holding things together and proving to be the perfect foil for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Virgil van Dijk may be the Reds’ key man, in terms of who Jurgen Klopp would least like to lose, but Firmino is not far behind.
He has started the season in majestic form.
