Fans react to Liverpool’s interest in Ugurcan Cakir

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir after an impressive performance from the shot-stopper against Fenerbahce.

The 23-year-old is very highly rated in Turkey and is valued at around £14 million.

Liverpool have sent scouts to watch the youngster in action on multiple occasions and the Merseyside club will continue to monitor his progress over the next few months before finally making a decision.

The reactions to this latest news has been interesting to say the least, with many Turkish fans getting involved on social media.

Some feel that £14 million is not enough…

Whilst others put forward their swap propositions.

For one Liverpool fan, the excitement seems to be building.

At just 23 years of age, Cakir still has plenty of time to develop. It’s great to see the club thinking about the long-term future, though, and he certainly possesses the ability to play for Liverpool.

However, judging by the reactions of many, signing him for just £14 million seems unlikely.

Other teams in Europe have also registered their interest in Cakir so Trabzonspor will almost certainly increase his value.

The Turkish international would be a good backup option to Alisson, and with plenty of time and guidance, could become a world-class goalkeeper.

This is, therefore, a transfer that the Reds should definitely pursue.
