At just 23 years of age, Cakir still has plenty of time to develop. It’s great to see the club thinking about the long-term future, though, and he certainly possesses the ability to play for Liverpool.

However, judging by the reactions of many, signing him for just £14 million seems unlikely.

Other teams in Europe have also registered their interest in Cakir so Trabzonspor will almost certainly increase his value.

The Turkish international would be a good backup option to Alisson, and with plenty of time and guidance, could become a world-class goalkeeper.

This is, therefore, a transfer that the Reds should definitely pursue.
