Alisson is the world’s best goalkeeper currently, with Ederson’s assessment of him both honest and correct.
Liverpool and Brazil’s No.1 has enjoyed a stunning first year at Anfield, winning the Champions League and helping take the team up another level.
Speaking to Goal about his compatriot, Manchester City ‘keeper Ederson admits he has been the best, making him favourite to win The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award later this month:
I think the three of us (Alisson, Ederson and Marc-Andre ter Stegen) were the best, but I see Alisson one step ahead.
He was great in the Premier League, won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and had a great Copa America as well.

Ederson has been a fantastic signing for City, showing freakish levels of confidence with the ball at his feet, but Alisson remains the superior all-round ‘keeper.
His positional sense, shot-stopping ability and aura all make him a formidable player and the best in the world in his position currently.
Alisson’s current absence through injury is a major concern for Liverpool, and even though results have been perfect without him, Jurgen Klopp needs his presence back between the sticks as soon as possible.
The Reds have not had a more influential figure in goal since Bruce Grobbelaar, if not Ray Clemence.
