Liverpool and Manchester City will dominate English football for the foreseeable future, as long as Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are around.
The two sides played out a stunning Premier League title race last season, with City eventually prevailing after getting 98 points to the Reds’ 97.
Speaking about the brilliance of both teams, in quotes provided by the Mirror, Kompany said the pair’s perfectly thought out approaches make them almost impossible to compete against:
My opinion is that, at the moment, it’s very difficult for the other clubs to compete because Liverpool and City are well-oiled machines.
Each player knows what to do. I think these guys are there to stay and the other ones will have to improve fast or otherwise that gap will remain.
It seems that even if they don’t have a great day, it’s still a comfortable game and there aren’t many teams in recent history who’ve been able to have comfortable games in the Premier League.
These two teams have been so good at nullifying the danger from the other teams, I don’t see the other teams being able to do that yet.
City and Liverpool have a huge volume of games which you can expect them to win and that gives them a massive advantage when it comes to overall league tables.

Football can be an unpredictable game, so there is no certainty that Liverpool and City will continue to dominate.
On current form, though, there is a huge gap between them and the rest of the sides in the Premier League.
That ability to have every player knowing exactly what they are doing is something that made Liverpool so dominant in the 1970s and 1980s – it didn’t matter who was playing, they were expertly drilled and on the same wavelength as their teammates.
In every game, the Reds and their title rivals look more organised than anyone else, which is the influence of two elite managers getting the very best out of numerous world class players.
Another thrilling title race could take place in 2019/20, but the rest of the league will have to watch on and admire it, rather than have aspirations of challenging Liverpool and City.
That will carry on for as long as Klopp and Guardiola stick around.
