Virgil van Dijk made an uncharacteristic error on Tuesday night, as Liverpool lost 2-0 away to Napoli in the Champions League.
In truth, his gift of a pass to Fernando Llorente was partly because he was desperately trying to get the ball upfield in the dying seconds, but it was still a surprise.
Van Dijk has been talking to Sky Sports about a potential new deal at Anfield, playing down extending it for the time being:
There is nothing going on, so that’s it.
That’s not on me! I saw some reports in the media that I was agreeing a new deal and stuff, but I’m not even discussing anything at the moment.
These Liverpool have been reacting to the news on Twitter, with some left a little concerned.

Although Van Dijk’s words could be construed as being on the negative side, there is no risk of him leaving at the moment.
The Dutchman has spoken numerous times of his happiness at Liverpool and he is excelling for arguably Europe’s best side.
There’s every chance that he will end up signing a new-and-improved deal with the Reds – he simply doesn’t see any rush to at the moment.
The thought of losing Van Dijk is a terrifying one for Liverpool supporters, considering he has become possibly the world’s leading centre-back over the past couple of seasons.
