Former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has explained how Leicester may struggle to keep hold of star player James Maddison if the likes of Liverpool come calling.
Maddison, who had a fantastic top flight debut season for the Foxes last time around, has been linked with both Liverpool and Manchester United in recent months.
Rodgers is fully aware of the size of both clubs and how they can be difficult to turn down.
Speaking to the media about the future of the 22-year-old, as reported by the Eastern Daily Press, Rodgers said any approach from one of the Premier League big boys would be hard for the player to turn down.
I’ve been fortunate that I’ve been at Liverpool where I understand the draw of that type of club. Liverpool and Manchester United are two of the biggest clubs by far. There’s other great clubs, there’s big clubs, but those two, in terms of worldwide status, are above the other clubs.
Whenever a player gets an opportunity to go to a club like that, to experience that type of pressure, that expectation – and of course there’ll be a financial side to it as well, let’s be real – that as a package in a short career is maybe something that is too hard to turn down.

I think Maddison would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool, at this moment in the time the Reds lack a high quality ‘number 10’.
Shaqiri is probably the only player who could really fit that role, but he is out of favour at the moment.
Maddison reminds me of Philippe Coutinho when he first arrived at Anfield. He operates well in the half spaces, is good at dead-ball situations and can pick out a killer pass in the final third.
The only criticism of Maddison you could have is his consistency and his numbers in front of goal. However, the former Norwich man is only 22 years of age and has plenty of time to develop.
His best years are ahead of him and hopefully some of those can be spent playing at Anfield every other week.
