Liverpool supporters love Gerrard’s response to FIFPro XI

Many Liverpool supporters were left bemused by the FIFPro World XI that was revealed on Monday.

Alisson and Virgil van Dijk were included in the team, but there was no place for Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane.

Two players whose absences was noticeable were Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson, who have matured into Europe’s best full-back pairing.

Steven Gerrard took to Instagram to hint at his dissatisfaction with the duo’s omission, saying, “we know so it doesn’t matter”.

These Reds fans loved the Liverpool legend’s message of support, reacting to it on Twitter.

Alexander-Arnold and Robertson not being included makes absolutely no sense, considering they were the best in their respective positions last season.

It is a classic case of bigger names being included instead of individuals being picked on merit.

Liverpool wouldn’t swap either player for anyone currently, given the vast influence they have on this Reds side.

At 20 and 25 respectively, he should continue to be key men for many years to come.

As long as they are fully appreciated at Liverpool, who really cares what everyone else thinks?
