Liverpool have so many world class players these days that it’s almost impossible to choose a favourite.
Every supporter has their own preference, but it’s fair to say that such a talented group of individuals hasn’t been assembled at Anfield during the Premier League era.
I decided to pose a question on Twitter asking who Reds fans thought would be the club’s Player of the Year come next May.
Many supporters responded, with Roberto Firmino comfortably the most common answer.
Firmino, obviously, but another shout would be Fabinho. He’s turning into the complete footballer before our very eyes.

Fabinho. More important to Liverpool than Kanté is and was to Chelsea. Liverpool succeed when pressing comes throughout the pitch, as well as link up play with the front 3.

Firmino – because he looks like a guy who’s had enough of not getting credit for being the genius he is and has started the season like man who is determind to go and grab it.

Read Liverpool Verdict
Such has been Firmino’s imperious start to the season, it’s no surprise to see him as the front-runner for Player of the Year.
The Brazilian seems to have found another gear since last year, becoming one of the best strikers in the world.
Barring possibly Virgil van Dijk, the 27-year-old is now Liverpool’s most irreplaceable player, with his unique blend of creativity, hard work, intelligence and goals making him priceless.
It’s hard to argue against those tipping him to be the Reds’ star man in 2019/20, but there is still a long way to go.
