Dejan Lovren has been named in Liverpool’s line-up to face Leicester City an Anfield this afternoon.
The Croatia international is making just his second start of the season, and his inclusion in the starting line-up is surprising with Joe Gomez on the bench for the Reds.
Lovren has been a divisive figure since signing for the Reds from Southampton in 2014, with the centre-back having struggled to live up to the performance levels he regularly turned out at St Mary’s.

His inclusion against the Foxes this afternoon has certainly raised eyebrows, with many Liverpool fans reacting on social media to his appearance alongside Virgil van Dijk.

Dejan Lovren does feel like a surprise inclusion from Jurgen Klopp, particularly with Joe Gomez fit and available.
Talk of him having looked rusty recently seems rather unimportant when compared with the alternative of starting Lovren who on his day can be fantastic, but unfortunately for him it is rarely his day.
With Jamie Vardy starting for Leicester, it remains to be seen whether Lovren can do enough to contain the electric forward.
