Liverpool fans are calling for Shaqiri to start against Man United

Liverpool have to wait almost two weeks until they play again, with the international break getting in the way of their unstoppable form.

Up next for the Reds is a trip to rivals Manchester United on October 20th, as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to equal Manchester City’s Premier League record of 18 wins in a row.

There are doubts over the fitness of Mohamed Salah ahead of the game, however, after he hobbled off late on against Leicester City on Saturday.

Although Liverpool not having one of their star men available would be an undoubted blow, some supporters are trying to see the positive side.

These Reds fans want Xherdan Shaqiri to be given a starring role, after his brace against United last season.

Shaqiri is still working his way back to full fitness, but he would represent a good option in Salah’s potential absence.

Jose Mourinho was sacked after the Swiss’ aforementioned heroics at Anfield last December and Solskjaer could follow suit if the same happens this time around.

Then again, would Liverpool fans really want that to happen, given United’s current woes with the Norwegian at the helm?
