Former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho could be about to hand a huge boost to the Reds.
The Brazilian is beginning to hit some impressive form for Bayern Munich, which has resulted in Liverpool target Thomas Muller to be frozen out of the first team.

Muller has been linked with a move to Anfield for several months and Coutinho’s fine form has plunged his future into further doubt.
As quoted on the Liverpool Echo, German football expert Kevin Hatchard said:
I think there is a genuine discomfort for Muller at the moment because he’s been on the bench for the last five games.
People go on about his goal output has dropped, but you look at the assists, he is still very much involved in a lot of the good stuff Bayern can do. He’s in a position he’s never really been in at Bayern which is somebody who is having to really scrap for a starting spot.
The arrival of Coutinho has put him under pressure because Muller operates in that No.10 role. It’s probably the biggest challenge of Muller’s career.
Is it time for Liverpool to make their move?

If there was a perfect time to go for Muller, January would be it. He’s not getting the game time that he wants at the moment at Bayern and could be persuaded to move to Anfield.
However, Muller is ageing and Klopp tends to prefer younger players when making signings. Also, will Muller even be a guaranteed starter for Liverpool? These are all factors which will need consideration.
Muller would be a statement signing by Klopp and his experience in title situations could prove useful if he joins. But for now, hold on to your hats.
