Jurgen Klopp’s team talk before last season’s Champions League clash with Barcelona was always going to be key, and so it proved.
Liverpool produced arguably their most miraculous comeback of all time at Anfield back in May, beating Barca 4-0 to overcome a three-goal deficit from the semi-final first leg.
It sent the Reds to Madrid to face Tottenham, where they famously clinched European Cup number six after a 2-0 win.
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Alisson has revealed exactly what Klopp said before Liverpool’s stunning turnaround against Barca:
It was something incredible. After the first game, nobody thought we could get back, but we were very confident. It was one of the games I will never forget.
It will be another unforgettable moment in my career. In the match in Barcelona we played well and had a lot of chances but lost by three goals. That left us very sad.
We respected Barca a lot but we knew we could go back. In England we went out for all and it was an incredible night.
With Liverpool in the first leg we deserved more, and Klopp told us to not slow down and continue imposing our high pace of play so we could achieve our goal.

Whenever Klopp does eventually leave Liverpool, hopefully in many years to come, that win over the Spanish giants may still be his most dramatic victory as Reds manager.
It was a result that felt unfathomable before the game, especially with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino both missing.
The night arguably matched the Champions League final in 2005, certainly in terms of drama, and the belief Klopp instilled in his players was a huge reason for the comeback.
This team now never knows when it’s beaten, highlighted by the last-gasp win over Leicester City in Liverpool’s most recent Premier League outing.
