Manchester United supporters were unhappy on Monday, after Danny Mills failed to select a single one of their players in a Combined XI with Liverpool.

Immediately, some were of the opinion that Paul Pogba would get into the Reds’ team currently, given his level of talent.

One Liverpool fan even claimed as much, taking to Twitter to tell fellow Reds supporters to “open your eyes”:

It’s fair to say that many Liverpool devotees were not of the same opinion, however, putting him in his place.

In terms of natural ability, Pogba would walk into Liverpool’s midfield, possessing more talent than the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner.

Football isn’t solely about that, though.

Pogba has flattered to deceive for several years now, too often blowing hot and cold, as well as showing a questionable attitude.

His style doesn’t fit into Liverpool’s at the moment, with Wijnaldum, Henderson and Milner tasked with playing thankless, unfashionable roles in front of Fabinho, rather than earning plaudits week in, week out.

Unless Pogba changed his game, or dramatically improved his consistency, he wouldn’t be a success in this Reds team.
